Farewell Kelli, Jackie & Katie!

3 of our core members will be moving this month. While Mississippi and BHB will miss them, Louisiana and Tennessee will gain some rad new residents. This organization has meant a lot to all of us, and a big part of us will be missing at the end of this month.

In their honor, we are working to find postage sponsors for all of the unmailed and wrapped packages we have. Please consider sponsoring a package for $3 through the donate link, and share with a friend!

If you are interested in getting more involved with BHB, now is a great time. Hit us up: bighousebooksms{at}gmail.com

Thank you Deonica for sponsoring a package!

Thank to Zach for sponsoring 15 packages, and for making our 2nd ever Bitcoin donation!

Thank you Patrick and Pearl River Flow blog for sponsoring two packages.

Thanks to Brooks and Christian for sponsoring a package!

Donation Station

Thanks to the St. Andrews School Library, we now have an amazing mobile donation station! This little guy will be getting a makeover and traveling to local businesses with literature about BHB, and will be collecting donations of money and books.

Stop by and see the donation station at FFT this Thursday and feed him some tasty paperback books!

BHB Inaugural Book Packing Party

Almost exactly 1 year ago, the Chapel Hill Prison Books Collective challenged Jackson to start a local prison books organization to serve Mississippi’s incarcerated population.

We celebrated 1 year of accepting the challenge with our first book packing party!
We filled all of the outstanding book requests from Parchment Correctional Facility, some of which have been waiting a very long time for books!

Thank you to everyone who donated time, funds, and books to make our first book packing party a success.

Huge shoutout to our working hosts at TurnUp Studios. Ya’ll are the best.
